Abstract:
The National Environmental Satellite Data and Information Service (NESDIS) Office of Satellite Data Processing and Distribution (OSDPD) produces and distributes many satellite products in near real-time to meet the needs of operational users. Many of these products can be used to monitor habitat and climate change. The products are made using data from geostationary satellites which are situated above a fixed location on the equator and image the earth every 15 minutes, as well as from polar orbiting satellites which provide two views of the same location of the earth every day at fixed local times. These products provide information on land, ocean and atmospheric parameters. The poster will display sample products that may be of interest to the conference audience and provide individual points of contact as well as details on where to obtain these product in near real-time or from the archive. Potential data users may also find product details via the website at http://www.osdpd.noaa.gov/ml/index.html.
