The Council of Environmental Deans and Directors (CEDD) held its Summer Program Conference June 21-23 at the Basin Harbor Club and Resort on Lake Champlain, Vergennes, Vermont. The conference gave participants the opportunity to network with fellow environmental leaders, share challenges and successes and learn about new approaches to improve the environmental programs at your college or university. The Summer Program Conference was followed by the Association of Environmental Studies and Science (AESS) 2011 Annual Meeting, which took place June 23-26 at the University of Vermont in Burlington, one hour north of Basin Harbor.
The highlights of this summer’s meeting included:

A pre-meeting workshop on climate change education

A plenary session entitled: “The Environmental Field Today”

Breakout sessions on the CEDD activity areas

A reception with representatives from representatives from Burlington area environmental and sustainability organizations

Opportunities for personal networking, bird watching, swimming and hiking.
